What yacht charter are you looking for?

Mallorca Yacht Charter

A Mallorca yacht charter isn’t just about cruising past pretty beaches—it’s about having the freedom to explore the island on your terms. We’ve seen too many itineraries built around ticking boxes. That’s not what we do. We guide our clients toward the best routes, the right yachts, and the experiences that actually make sense for their trip.

Mallorca has two sides. There’s the polished, upscale vibe of Puerto Portals, Port Adriano, and Palma’s buzzing marina scene—great if you want to hop between beach clubs, fine dining, and boutique shopping. Then there’s the quieter side: the wild west coast with its dramatic cliffs and hard-to-reach coves, the Cabrera National Park to the south (permits required, we’ll help with that), and the north’s hidden beaches like Cala Tuent and the Formentor Peninsula, where you can drop anchor and feel like the world’s been put on mute.

Charters typically start at around €15,000 per week, depending on the yacht. We recommend at least 7 days if you want to do it properly—anything less, and you’ll be rushing past the good stuff.

Types of Crewed Yacht Charters in Mallorca

Starting with Mallorca itself, it is about a 150 nautical mile circumnavigation around it; it is weather dependent, especially in the north where occasional strong winds blow from southern France. Choosing the right yacht makes all the difference.

A Mallorca motor yacht charter gives you speed, range, and pure luxury—ideal for covering more ground and reaching places like northern Mallorca, Ibiza, and Formentera in just a few hours. If you’re after a slower pace, Mallorca catamaran charters offer stability, space, and easy access to shallow calas perfect for paddleboarding and swimming. Either way, every yacht comes with a full, professional crew who handle everything from navigation to gourmet meals on deck.

Catamaran Charters in Mallorca

A Mallorca catamaran charter is a great option for groups of 6-10 people wanting to explore the coast in a relaxed way. If you plan to do a one-week catamaran charter, do not expect to go the entire way around Mallorca, it is simply too far, and the weather might get in your way. Instead, focus on a part of the coast –the most popular and easy to get to is the southern part of Mallorca around Palma, especially heading east to all the beautiful calas (bays) and the Cabrera national park, an uninhabited island to the south.

Motor Yacht Charters in Mallorca

With a Mallorca motor yacht charter, you can be a lot more ambitious. With the advantage of being fast and less dependent on the wind, you have the freedom to go much further. This opens up the option to cruise up the wilder west coast, which is further between anchorages and therefore tough for catamarans, and reach the north, which is known for having the most dramatic coastline in Mallorca. You will also get more exclusive beaches and beach resorts here. Motor yachts are more expensive than catamarans, especially when you factor in the higher fuel consumption, however, the luxury and freedom of movement is unmatched. Expect extravagant cabins, sundecks with jacuzzi and bar, and big selections of water toys.

Sailing Yacht Charters in Mallorca

In all honesty, we rarely have clients inquiring about Mallorca sailing yacht charters on monohulls; they are simply not very popular in crewed yacht charters. Why? because sailing catamarans are beating them in space, comfort and ability to access shallower water. That said, we do occasionally get some real sailing enthusiasts who insist on a real Mallorca sailing charter, and we love it when we do. If this is you, we will help you find the best options, ticking all the boxes for fun sailing, onboard luxury, and a skilled crew with a passion for wind. Also remember, you can save a lot on using the wind as your fuel!

Ready to Find Your Perfect Mallorca Yacht Charter?

Our job is to help you avoid the usual guesswork. We know the yachts, the anchorages, the beach clubs worth your time, and the ones that just look good on Instagram. If you want a Mallorca luxury yacht charter done right without the usual sales pitch, we’re here to make it happen.

Where to Go on a Mallorca Yacht Charter?

Where to go in Mallorca depends on your yacht, the length of your trip, and the weather during your charter dates. A full circumnavigation of Mallorca is about 150 nautical miles. If you’re chartering for a week—which we recommend as a minimum—you’re looking at around 20 nautical miles per day. That’s just a couple of hours of cruising on a motor yacht, but it might be a little too much for a catamaran. But distance alone doesn’t shape your itinerary—weather plays a key role, especially with occasional stronger winds rolling down from southern France and affecting the north coast. Flexibility is everything. With a Mallorca motor yacht charter, you also have the option of a full Balearic Islands yacht charter, incorporating Ibiza and Formentera into your itinerary.

Start Your Mallorca Yacht Charter in Palma

Palma de Mallorca, the island’s vibrant capital, is the starting point for most yacht charters in Mallorca. It’s easy to reach, with Palma Airport offering direct flights from major cities across Europe and beyond. From the airport, it’s just a short drive to the marina, where your yacht awaits.

Palma itself is worth exploring before or after your charter. The Old Town is a maze of cobbled streets, historic buildings, and charming squares, with highlights like the stunning Palma Cathedral, best visited between April and October. The city also offers great shopping, vibrant nightlife, and plenty of dining options, from casual tapas bars to Michelin-starred restaurants.

The South Coast and Cabrera Island: Calm Waters and Stunning Calas

The south coast of Mallorca is the most popular area for yacht charters, especially catamarans, which have limited range—it’s easy to reach, packed with stunning calas, and more sheltered from unpredictable weather. We always recommend Cala Pi for its turquoise waters and Es Trenc, one of Mallorca’s most famous white-sand beaches. Another must is Cabrera National Park, a protected marine reserve and the best place for diving and spotting dolphins and turtles in Mallorca. It requires advance booking, which we can take care of.

Moving up the east coast, Cala d’Or is a great stop, known for its lively marina and dining scene, while Cala Varques is perfect if you want a more private spot to swim or paddleboard. Further north, Porto Cristo is famous for the Drach Caves, home to one of the largest underground lakes in the world, while Portocolom is a charming place to grab a relaxed lunch by the water or take an evening stroll along the harbor.

The West and North Coast: Wild Beauty best Explored by Motor Yachts

The west coast of Mallorca is wilder, with fewer anchoring spots and limited access for catamarans. However, it’s perfect for a motor yacht that can cover distance comfortably. Port de Sóller is the standout here and our personal favorite port in all of the Balearics—a charming horseshoe bay surrounded by mountains, with beachside restaurants like Patiki Beach for laid-back dining.

From here, you can cruise further north to discover secluded coves like Cala Tuent and the dramatic cliffs of Sa Calobra.

The very north coast offers some of the island’s most exclusive destinations, best explored by motor yacht. We love sending clients to Cap de Formentor, known for its rugged cliffs and panoramic views, and Cala Murta, a quiet, unspoiled anchorage perfect for a swim. For a taste of Mallorca’s luxury scene, head to Ponderosa Beach or Royal Beach Club in Playa de Muro—beachside dining with your toes in the sand and a cocktail in hand.

Balearic Islands Yacht Charter (Mallorca, Ibiza, Formentera and Menorca)

A Mallorca to Ibiza yacht charter is all about freedom—skipping the crowded ferries and setting your own pace across 70 nautical miles of open sea. On a fast motor yacht, the crossing takes just a few hours, giving you more time to enjoy the best of both islands.

Start in Palma, where the marina buzzes with energy, and the Old Town offers everything from designer shops to tapas bars. Cruise down the south coast, anchoring at Es Trenc, a postcard-perfect beach with turquoise waters, or head to Cabrera National Park for off-the-grid snorkeling and quiet coves.

Once you cross to Ibiza, the vibe shifts. The north coast is where you’ll find peace—Cala Xarraca is a favorite for its clear waters and laid-back feel. From there, work your way south, stopping at the legendary Es Vedrà, a jagged rock rising from the sea, before anchoring in Es Porroig, perfect for an evening swim and sundowners on deck.

Formentera is an easy addition—barefoot beach clubs, white sands, and water so clear it looks fake. Finish with a night in Ibiza Town, whether that means fine dining, rooftop cocktails, or a low-key dinner in Dalt Vila’s old streets. This isn’t a trip for box-ticking. It’s for slowing down, enjoying the ride, and seeing the Balearics properly.

This period offers the most favorable weather conditions for sailing, with warm temperatures, clear skies, and calm seas. Additionally, summer brings longer daylight hours, allowing for more time to explore the island’s stunning coastline.

How to Book a Mallorca Yacht Charter?

The best yachts in Mallorca book fast—sometimes two summers ahead. If you want your pick of the best, we recommend inquiring at least 12 months in advance. If you wait until six months out, you’ll likely have fewer options, and some yachts may not be able to reposition to your preferred starting point.

Once you inquire, we’ll go over the details—yacht type, size, budget, and itinerary ideas—and send you a curated list of yachts that match your requirements. When you’ve chosen your yacht, we’ll handle the contract and deposit. The remaining balance is due six weeks before departure, along with a preference sheet to tailor everything to your group, from food to activities. A few weeks before your charter, the captain will reach out to fine-tune the itinerary based on your preferences and the weather.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Mallorca yacht charter cost, all hidden fees included?

The cost of a Mallorca yacht charter varies based on the yacht type, size, and season. For a fully crewed motor or sailing yacht, expect:

  • Mid-range yachts (50-70 feet): From €15,000 – €40,000 per week
  • Luxury motor yachts & superyachts: From €40,000 – €250,000+ per week

Additional Costs:

  • Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA): ~25-30% of the base fee for food, fuel, and mooring.
  • VAT (21%) for charters departing from Spain.
  • Crew gratuity (5-15%) for outstanding service.

What type of yacht is best for a Mallorca yacht charter?

While catamarans are very popular, we always recommend motor yachts for our clients looking for ultimate freedom, luxury, and exploration. With a faster cruising speed and less dependency on the weather, you can easily explore the north coast, jump over to Menorca or choose an itinerary cruising from Mallorca to Ibiza and Formentera.

Can I visit other Balearic Islands on my Mallorca yacht charter?

Yes! A one-week charter can include Ibiza, Formentera, and Cabrera, while a 10-14 day charter allows time for Menorca and additional stops. We recommend at least 10 days if you want to include Ibiza without rushing.

Can I start in Mallorca and end in Ibiza?

Yes, one-way charters between Mallorca and Ibiza are possible, but they require advanced planning. Some yachts may charge a relocation fee for repositioning the vessel.

We recommend discussing one-way options with your charter broker early to secure the best yachts.

Is Menorca worth visiting on a yacht charter?

Absolutely! Menorca offers secluded beaches, UNESCO Biosphere Reserves, and historic harbors like Mahón and Ciutadella. It’s less crowded than Mallorca or Ibiza and perfect for nature lovers. However, it is further north, so you’ll need a longer charter (10+ days) to fully enjoy it.

Do I really need a broker to book my Mallorca yacht charter?

Yes! While it’s possible to book directly, a charter broker ensures you get the best yacht, fair pricing, and a hassle-free experience. We handle:
Yacht selection – We only recommend verified crewed yachts.
Contracts & legalities – Protecting your booking and payments.
Custom itineraries – Ensuring you see the best of Mallorca & the Balearics.

We strongly recommend using a trusted charter broker for a seamless, stress-free luxury yacht experience.

What is the best time for a Mallorca yacht charter?

The best time for a yacht charter in Mallorca is May to October, with peak season in July & August. If you prefer:

  • Fewer crowds & lower rates: May, June, September, and early October.
  • Peak summer energy & vibrant nightlife: July & August.

How far in advance should I book my Mallorca yacht charter?

We recommend booking 6-12 months in advance, especially for high season (June-September). The best yachts book out early, and last-minute options are limited. Booking early ensures the best yacht selection and avoids price increases.
