Portals Nouse
A secondary anchorage to Las Illetas, Portals Nous is located further west and to the other side of Bendinat. If Puerto Portals is the hotspot that everyone keeps talking about for its nightlife and party havens, Portals Nous is meant for a relaxed holiday with a stunning look of the West bay.
Cala Portals Nous and Platja de S’Oratori are the top beaches worth visiting here. The long, semicircular shore around the latter will give you enough space for a temporary mooring.
The anchorage is basically a shore with no proper quays. You can park anywhere ashore as long as you find decent holding. Go in and you will find the Carretera d’Andratx lane known for its supermarkets, bistros, salons, and boutiques, making for a good shopping experience.
Portals Nous has been permanently inhabited since at least the 1930s, with homeowners and migrants setting up shops and holiday homes. The tourism boom on the island also influenced this small town where the beaches are cleaner and less crowded than Palma and Puerto Portals.
Mooring at Portals Nouse
Anchoring suggestion is 5 meters over sand. The anchorage is open to the south and southwest but expect only minor swells. No constructed berths are present but you can park ashore and explore the local market north of Carretera d’Andratx.
Portals Nous is very close to Puerto Portals. You can park here and take a cab to the glamorous world of Portals if you don’t fancy staying there longer or want to avoid the crowd.
Provisioning and Services
Portals Nous has shops and restaurants ashore that will be enough for quick provisioning. Not as attractive as Las Illetas but can still be a quick rest stop for solo and couple travelers.
