Read MoreCala Vina is an anchorage in Puerto de Palma Nova.
Puerto de Palma Nova is a charter location in Mallorca – South, a yacht charter area in Mallorca.
The anchorages on Puerto de Palma Nova:
Cala Vina
Cala Vina (or Playa Cala Vinyes) is a small creek (cala) just southwest of Playa de Magaluf that offers a peaceful sojourn away from the frantic hustle-bustle and nightlife of Mallorca’s main harbors. It has a small sandy beach that is lined with tall buildings that act as serviced apartments and hotels for locals and tourists.
The small beach has bars and restaurants, beach bathing services (equipment), and also includes a buoyed-off area at the mouth of the beach for swimmers. If you are traveling with kids, this will be a perfect place for some rest and recreation. Clean beach topped with cheap and good food are the highlights of Cala Vina.
The nearby Cala Falco offers more adventurous activities such as scuba diving and snorkeling. The beaches of El Mago and Portals Vells are a short walk from the anchorage and are great for temporary stops to take in the seafront views. Film enthusiasts may want to visit El Mago beach where the 1965 film The Magus was filmed.
Mooring at Cala Vina
Anchoring suggestion is 4-5 meters. The small creek does not provide much space for swinging, so enter and exit with caution. The seabed is mostly sand but you should be able to navigate well.
Provisioning and Services
There is decent provisioning both at the beach and internal areas. There are a few resorts and hotels that provide accommodation all year around. Yacht-related maintenance and repairs are not possible. You may have to sail to Palmanova for any kind of assistance.
