Port d’Andratx is where our west coast routes begin: a working harbor with a genuinely relaxed marina feel, more fishing boats and local life than resort energy, and the last comfortable stop before the Tramuntana cliffs take over. Several of our routes stage here the night before the run north to Sóller.
It’s also simply a lovely evening. The harbor faces the sunset, the waterfront restaurants are a short walk from the berths, and it sits close enough to Palma that boarding day can end here without a long first leg.
Mooring and marina notes
The harbor is well sheltered and the approach is easy; berths are in demand in high summer, as this is one of the southwest’s favorite evening stops, so we arrange them early. In our experience it also makes a smart weather hedge: when the west coast is too lively, the water between here and Palma stays workable.
What’s around the port
Just around the corner sits Sant Elm and the protected island of Sa Dragonera, a nature reserve with quiet water and a proper beach, and our favorite gentle first-morning anchorage on this side. The town above the harbor keeps real Mallorcan life going year round.
