Port de Pollença is the elegant half of Mallorca’s north: a sheltered bay tucked under the Formentor peninsula, with an old-fashioned seafront promenade and a pace that suits long lunches and slow mornings. Where Alcúdia is the family bay, Pollensa is the one we pick for couples and smaller groups.
Our 7-day clockwise loop gives Pollensa a full day, and that’s the right dose: morning under the Formentor cliffs, afternoon at anchor in the bay, evening ashore on the promenade.
Mooring and marina notes
The bay is one of the best protected in northern Mallorca, shielded by the peninsula from the open sea, which makes it a reliable overnight even when the north coast has weather. The marina is modest and civilized; anchoring room in the bay is generous. In our experience this is the north’s easiest all-round stop for a captain.
What’s around the port
The seafront pine walk sets the tone: villas, small restaurants, and a beach that stays calm. Around the corner, Cap de Formentor’s cliffs and the beach at Formentor are the postcard of northern Mallorca, minutes away by water while the drivers queue on the hairpins above.
