Cala d’Or is our base for Mallorca’s east coast calas: a sheltered marina sitting inside a narrow inlet, with a string of small turquoise coves running up and down the coast on either side of it. If your picture of Mallorca is white sand between pine-covered headlands, this is the stretch that delivers it.
The east works differently from the west: no drama, no cliffs, just short hops between coves, which makes it the easiest cruising on the island and a natural fit for first-time charterers.
Mooring and marina notes
The marina is genuinely sheltered, tucked deep in its inlet, and the whitewashed village around it keeps things low-key. Berths get busy in season as this is the east’s main yacht stop, so we plan it in advance. The everyday pattern here: swim the calas through the day, take a berth or a quiet anchorage by evening.
What’s around the port
The coves are the point: Cala Gran and its neighbors within walking or swimming distance, and a dozen more within an hour’s cruise. Just south, Mondragó natural park protects 2 of the east’s prettiest beaches. Our 7-day loop threads this coast on the way from Cala Ratjada down toward Cabrera.
