If you’re exploring Mallorca by yacht, the best beaches aren’t the ones you drive to. They’re the bays where you anchor comfortably, swim straight off the yacht, eat onboard, and stay because there’s no reason to leave.
This list focuses on those beaches – the ones we plan yacht days around when building itineraries along the west and north coasts, where cliffs, depth, and limited access keep the experience intact. These are beaches that reward arriving by sea, not by road.
1. Cala Tuent — West Coast, Our Go-To Secluded Beach
Cala Tuent is one of our favourite anchorages in Mallorca when guests want to feel genuinely removed from civilisation. Set deep in the Serra de Tramuntana on the west coast, it’s an ideal stop when cruising north from Port d’Andratx or Sóller.
The mountains rise straight out of the sea, and evenings here are exceptionally quiet – perfect for dinner on deck and sunset drinks with nothing but cliffs and fading light around you.
Mornings are calm and slow: clear water for a first swim, paddleboarding along the shoreline, or yoga on deck before the day begins. There’s a simple local restaurant ashore, but most guests choose to stay onboard and enjoy the stillness.
2. Sa Calobra — West Coast, Iconic Beach Photo
Sa Calobra earns its place not because it’s hidden, but because arriving by yacht transforms it completely. This is a natural monument – towering rock walls and the mouth of the Torrent de Pareis – and it works best as a short, carefully timed stop while cruising the west coast.
Early morning or late afternoon, the bay feels dramatic and almost solemn. Guests tender ashore for a walk into the gorge or a swim beneath the stunning cliffs, then return onboard.
It’s not a place to linger, but it’s one of those moments guests remember vividly because the scale is unlike anywhere else in Mallorca.
3. Cala Murta — North Coast, Calm and Green
Cala Murta sits on the Formentor peninsula and is an easy, rewarding stop when cruising the north coast from Pollença. It’s sheltered, green, and consistently calm, making it ideal for a relaxed half-day or overnight anchorage.
This is one of our go-to spots for quiet afternoons: swimming, snorkeling, and light water sports without interruption. Evenings are peaceful, and mornings are particularly nice here – glassy water, soft light, and space to start the day slowly before moving on around the peninsula.
4. Cala Figuera (Formentor) — North Coast, Boat-Only Beach
This small Cala Figuera near Cap de Formentor is one of the most genuinely boat-led experiences on the island. With no practical road access, it feels defined by the sea.
It’s an excellent stop on the way around the cape, especially for a swim and lunch onboard. The water is deep blue and clear, ideal for snorkeling straight off the yacht.
It’s not about beaches or facilities – it’s about drifting, swimming, and enjoying the sense of being offshore, even though you’re still on Mallorca.
5. Es Coll Baix — North Coast, Wild and Impressive
Es Coll Baix sits below steep cliffs near Alcúdia and feels raw and undeveloped. It’s a rewarding stop when conditions allow, especially for guests who enjoy dramatic scenery.
Yachts anchor further out, and the beach remains free of any commercial presence. This is a great place for an afternoon swim followed by sunset cocktails onboard, watching the light fade across the cliffs. It also works well as a quiet overnight anchorage before heading back toward Pollença or around the north coast.
6. Cala Deià — West Coast, Character and History
Cala Deià is small, atmospheric, and full of character. It’s a natural pause when cruising the west coast, particularly between Sóller and Port d’Andratx.
By yacht, the key is timing – arrive early, enjoy a swim and snorkeling along the rocks, then tender ashore for lunch at one of the rustic restaurants before it fills up.
It’s not secluded, but it’s memorable, and it gives guests a sense of Mallorca’s cultural side rather than just its scenery.
7. Cala Formentor — North Coast, Long White Beach
Cala Formentor is a comfortable, sheltered bay and a natural stop when cruising near Pollença. It’s not wild, but it’s elegant and calm, making it ideal for guests who enjoy swimming and paddleboarding.
We recommend going ashore for lunch at Restaurant Cala Formentor, located directly on the beach. The restaurant offers refined Mediterranean cooking in a classic setting – white tablecloths, shaded terrace, and a pace that suits yacht guests who want quality without formality.
The setting works well for an easy afternoon followed by a relaxed evening onboard. It’s a good contrast to the more rugged north-coast calas.
8. Cala Llamp — South-West, Polished and Clear
Cala Llamp is rocky and deep, with excellent water clarity, making it a pleasant stop near Port d’Andratx. It’s often used as a lunch or swim stop rather than an overnight anchorage.
It is a great spot to swim straight off the yacht and tender in for a high-end lunch at Gran Folies. It’s a useful option when the west coast is exposed or when easing back toward port.
9. Cala Mondragó — East Coast, Natural Reserve
Cala Mondragó sits within a protected natural park and offers a greener, softer landscape than much of the east coast.
While accessible by land, arriving by yacht early or later in the day gives a calmer experience. It’s a good stop for swimming and a relaxed walk ashore, especially when cruising the south-east.
10. Cala Pi — South Coast, Shelter and Simplicity
Cala Pi is a narrow, sheltered inlet and is often used as a comfortable stop when other coasts are less favourable. It’s not dramatic, but it’s practical and peaceful — a place for a swim, lunch onboard, and an easy afternoon before continuing the itinerary.
