The anchorages on Puerto de Palma Nova:
Playa de Palma Nova
The anchorage of Playa de Palma Nova is best known for its long, three-part sandy beach that consists of de Son Maties, des Carregador, and Palma Nova. Out of these three, des Carregador is the quietest beach. The seafront is more than a kilometer long and has undergone artificial regeneration (in the 1960s) to maintain its white sand and beautiful promenade. This eventually helped it receive the Blue Flag award for water quality. They are almost always crowded as they attract tourists and locals from the city center and the luxury hotels nearby.
The beaches offer a great view of the ocean, are lively, and have decent provisions such as loungers for rent and refreshment kiosks. You can also engage in water sports, have fun at the renowned water parks, indulge in luxury cruises and catamaran rides, and beautiful underwater diving experience brought out by the Nero 1 submarine. There are also two major golf courses in Bendinat and Magaluf (that includes Fantasia Golf).
Mooring at Playa de Palma Nova
Anchoring suggestion is 2-5 meters on sand. You can approach from the east and park anywhere near the shore. The north side of the Magaluf peninsula provides good shelter from south and southwest winds.
Provisioning and Services
The Palmanova beach has almost everything you need. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the beach that offer spectacular views of the promenade and a good entry to the local cuisines. Yacht provisioning may require you to walk in a little where you will find supermarkets and shops selling most essentials.
Since there are no official berths or a quay here, do not expect yacht-related maintenance or fuels stations.
