Anchorage in Palma de Mallorca

Marina Port de Mallorca

Marina Port de Mallorca

Marina Port de Mallorca is a relatively upscale anchorage in the Palma port, and is located just north of Pantalan de Mediterraneo. It is known to be an expensive marina but it offers reasonably better security, privacy, and services. There are over 200 berths that accept vessels of up to 50 meters in length. Although some of these are earmarked for permanent and other commercial vessels.

You can find the famous Hotel Melia Victoria right in front of this anchorage. If a night stay or two out of the sea is called for, this is a destination to be in.

This anchorage is operated by the IPM Group, which is a leader in porta management in the area. Originally built in 2001, Marina Port de Mallorca was refurbished in 2017 and was converted into a fully environmentally friendly anchorage.

Mooring at Marina Port de Mallorca

There is some effect from the eastern winds but the larger issue is with the lower edge of the pontoons. They are unusually high (as high as 1.25 meters), which can pose a danger to smaller boats that may get pushed under in a crosswind. There have been cases where even larger vessels have faced swells from passing boats and risked pushing in.

The anchorage management has added wave breaks under the north and south sides of the pontoon but they aren’t effective enough.

You may book a berth via its official website. In the case of seasonal bookings, you may be allotted a berth of an otherwise permanent booking.

Provisioning and Services

It has decent provisions in the marina with electricity and water stations beside the mooring stations. There are also free showering facilities that will be great for solo travelers to cool off before heading for the Palma markets or sightseeing.

However, don’t expect a reception desk. There is no fueling station present at the anchorage.
