WHY CHOOSE A CATAMARAN FOR YOUR MALLORCA CHARTER VACATION?

Catamaran rentals in Mallorca stand out first and foremost for their financial benefits. Catamarans offer an affordable alternative to Motor Yachts with more onboard space and the option to sail, significantly reducing fuel consumption, making them a pragmatic choice for budget-conscious charterers.

In addition to financial considerations, the inherent stability of catamarans contributes to a comfortable sailing experience, which is particularly beneficial for guests prone to seasickness. The spacious layout of catamarans also provides excellent onboard comfort, with larger catamarans able to accommodate large groups. Charterers can relish the journey as much as the destinations, with ample deck space for lounging and enjoying panoramic views of the turquoise surroundings.

APA VS All-INCLUSIVE CHARTERS

When planning to charter a catamaran in Mallorca, there are two main options to consider: APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) yacht charters and All-Inclusive yacht charters.

When choosing between an APA yacht charter and an all-inclusive yacht charter, clients should consider their desired level of customization, budget flexibility, and overall vacation experience. Both options offer unique advantages, and understanding the regional differences in the Mediterranean and Caribbean will help clients make an informed decision to ensure an unforgettable yachting vacation.

☞ APA YACHT CHARTER

An APA yacht charter is popular for clients seeking a customized, high-end experience. In this charter arrangement, the client pays a base fee for the yacht rental and crew. On top of this base fee, an advance provisioning allowance (APA) is added, typically around 20-30% of the yacht’s base rental cost. This APA is intended to cover expenses such as food, beverages, fuel, marina fees, and any other costs that might arise during the charter.

☞ ALL-INCLUSIVE YACHT CHARTER

In contrast, an all-inclusive yacht charter offers a hassle-free experience with a set price that covers all expenses related to the yacht, crew, food, beverages, and activities. Clients can relax and enjoy their vacation without worrying about additional costs or budgeting for unexpected expenses. Nevertheless, the issues are the same as in a luxury All-inclusive resort – you can’t have a hot tub full of Moet…

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO CHARTER A CATAMARAN IN MALLORCA?

The best time to charter a Catamaran in Mallorca is typically during the summer months, from around April to September. This period offers the most favorable weather conditions, with warm temperatures, clear skies, and calm seas. Additionally, summer brings longer daylight hours, allowing for more time to explore the island’s stunning coastline.

Moreover, summer coincides with the peak tourist season in Mallorca, resulting in a lively atmosphere, bustling marinas, and numerous events and festivities to enjoy both on land and at sea.

☝️ Choose a boat rental outside Hight-Season for Discounted Rates!

While summer is the most popular time for yacht charters in Mallorca, spring and early autumn can also offer pleasant weather conditions, fewer crowds, and discounted catamaran rental prices, an attractive alternative for those seeking a quieter sailing experience.

Where to Go on a Mallorca Catamaran Charter?

A Catamaran Charter in the Balearic Islands presents an enticing opportunity for charter guests seeking a picturesque holiday destination. Mallorca, the largest island in the Balearic islands, offers stunning coastal landscapes and a vibrant cultural scene.

Mallorca’s allure extends beyond its renowned nightlife, although it is often compared to Ibiza in that regard. The island offers something for everyone, from families seeking relaxation to couples in search of a romantic retreat and solo travelers eager to explore its diverse attractions.

Exploring Mallorca with a bareboat charter or luxury charter allows visitors to experience the island’s beauty from a unique perspective. From charming villages to the historic streets of Palma de Mallorca, Mallorca offers a wide variety of experiences. Whether it’s unwinding in a marina or lounging on a pristine beach, guests can immerse themselves in the island’s stunning scenery. For the adventurous, Mallorca is also home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site the “Serra de Tramuntana” mountain range. This stunning natural landscape stretches along the northwest coast of Mallorca and offers numerous hiking trails and outdoor activities, allowing visitors to explore its natural and cultural treasures while enjoying breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Our favorite charter destinations in Mallorca include Palma de Mallorca, Prtocolom and Porto Cristo, Alcúdia, Formentor, Port de Sóller, Port d’Andratx, Port Adriano, and el Toro.

Palma - the South

Palma de Mallorca is the capital of Mallorcan tourism, and it’s easy to see why. It has a rich history and is surrounded by beautiful beaches, great nightlife, and shopping. The Old Town is gorgeous, with plenty of activities for adults and children.

The south part of the island is where you’ll find many famous cliff-jumping spots like Cabo Blanco and Es Trenc. You can also take a short walk along the cobbled streets of Palma de Mallorca at the southern end and visit the Palma Cathedral from April to October. This is a must-visit for boat charters.

PORTOCOLOM & PORTO CRISTO

These natural harbors are located on the island’s eastern coast and offer a more laid-back experience. This is an excellent choice for families and offers a deeper insight into the true Mallorcan lifestyle.

A catamaran rental will allow you to stop at Cala d’or a short distance from Porto Colom, known for its sandy beaches, water sports, crystal clear waters, and bustling nightlife. Cala d’or is closer to Cabrera National Park, the largest park in Spain, renowned for its historical monuments and biodiversity.

Alcúdia

Located on the north coast of Mallorca, this island region is popular among partygoers and watersports enthusiasts. The consistent winds blow across the waters, making it an ideal location for kites and windsurfing. If you are looking for powdery white beaches, this area will not disappoint.

Alcúdia also hosts traditional festivals and evening events all year round-portraying the true culture of Spain. You can glimpse the past while walking on the cobbled streets.

Formentor

Further up the northern coast of Balearic islands and not far from Alcudia, the port of Formentor and the surrounding area is another spot that deserves a spot on the list.

The winds have earned this spot the nickname “meeting point of the winds,” and you’ll see why once you get there. The cliffs have long been a massive attraction, and with good reason: they’re incredible. This is a great destination for both beginners and experienced sailors alike.

Port de Sóller

Spain is famous for olive trees and fresh olive produce. Port de Sóller is a peaceful area known for its massive harvest from ancient olive trees and beautiful views of the Mediterranean.

Separated from the rest of the island by the Tramuntana mountain range, contributing to its secluded charm, it has retained its charm and association with the past. With a Catamaran rental in Mallorca, you can enjoy the serene natural beauty as much as you desire.

Port d'Andratx

Just a short boat ride from Palma, the charming Port d’Andratx is one of the most picturesque spots to spend time in Spain. From Cala Figuera to Punta de la Mala, the beautiful shoreline is broken by the magnificent anchorage of Puerto de Andratx and a host of coves.

There are plenty of nice cliffs to watch the sunset from or practice cliff jumping. The local beaches tend to be densely occupied, so visiting from your yacht is always a better option.

EASY BOOKING - SPEAK WITH A CHARTER EXPERT

Ideally, you’d inquire about a Mallorca boat charter 12 months in advanceWHY? The best yachts are often fully booked long in advance and it’s not unusual to see popular dates booked 2 summers ahead for a yacht charter vacation in Mallorca or anywhere else in the Mediterranean for that matter. Inquiring less than 6 months ahead often means that your first choice is unavailable for charter. Additionally, you might find that your dream yacht, can’t make it to the port where you wish to commence your yacht charter.
